Role of social Media:
In
every human being,
there is deep rooted need to share. By and large are every individual
enjoy being social & they feel an inherent want to
connect and expand their connections.
In the past, due to geographical
distances and economic concerns, connections and communications were limited. With
the spread in technology, from wired devices to wireless devices communication
has grown & now it’s much easier and cheap to communicate and connect with
people across the world.
It can serve as an
opportunistic launching platform for a new business owner, or it could be
an unpreventable source of negative peer pressure for a young teen
·
Facilitates open communication,
targets a wide audience, leading to enhanced information discovery and
delivery.
·
It helps people to discuss
ideas, post news, ask questions and share links.
·
It offers a platform to widen
business contacts. Increases market research, implements marketing campaigns,
delivers communications and directs interested people to specific web sites.
·
Creates desire to get Attention:
Social media is consuming too much time and energy. Social media is compulsion,
we compulsively check to see what has changed, what others are tweeting or do
they have mentioned us in comments or liked our photos. It creates the desires
to get attention.
·
False sense of connection: This
promise is actually disconnecting us from being social. In real life it is very
hard to measure whether someone like us or not but in social media we have
finite measures, creating a false sense of connection
